Matter Motor Works has secured $25 million (₹240 crore) in funding. Existing investors—including the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC), Helena, Capital 2B, Japan Airlines, and TransLink Innovation Fund—participated in this round. The funds will be utilized to scale up manufacturing and distribution operations. Following this round, the company's total funding has reached ₹1,000 crore.
Matter Motor Works currently operates 30 dealerships across 21 cities and aims to increase this number to 50 by the end of the year. The company also plans to manufacture motorcycles in the 150cc to 200cc range.
The reinvestment by existing investors reflects the company's strong position. Meanwhile, the electric two-wheeler market in India is vast; established companies are also entering this space, resulting in intense competition alongside the market's immense potential.
